Yerington, NV – The Board of County Commissioners addressed two separate agenda items dealing with theCountyManager’s performance and employment. The Board unanimously approved a performance appraisal with an overall score of exceeds job standards. Each Commissioner was given the evaluation form and asked to rate theCountyManager according to the scale provided for each topic area.
A rating system of 1-5 was used with 1 being unsatisfactory, 3 being meets job standards and 5 being outstanding. His overall rating was 4 which mean Exceeds Job Standards. He was rated on the following categories:
- Governing Board Relationships
- Public Relations
- Effective Leadership of Staff
- Fiscal Management
- Professional Job Related Competencies
- Intergovernmental Affairs
The Board then addressed the issue of whether or not to approve a Memorandum of Agreement for employment with theCountyManager. The agreement identifies thatCountyManager’s duties as outlined inCountyCode. The major topic of discussion was a severance package if theCountyManageris terminated for no cause. TheCountyManager’s intent was for a six month buyout of his aggregate salary and benefits. If theCountyManageris terminated for cause then no six month severance package will be provided.
Page also agreed to 180 day notice to the Board of his intent to retire if and when he retires. The agreement is effective from October 18, 2012 to October 31, 2015. The Board unanimously approved the agreement.
