Yerington, NV- The Board of County Commissioners had a full agenda of items and they took the following action:
The Board of Commissioners approved eight business license applications and two temporary liquor license applications.
The Board approved the acceptance of $164,000.00 in grants for the Human Services Department and approved an inter-local agreement with the State of Nevada in regards to the payment of non-federal share of the costs of the Aged, Blind and Disabled recipients in institutional care and clients eligible for waiver services related to independent living.
The Board approved a bid submitted by ARMAC Construction for $41,300.00 for reconstruction (including contingency and compaction) of a drainage swale along Cowee Drive in Moundhouse.
The Board approved an agreement with Farr West Engineering for Construction Management and Inspection Services for the Dayton Septic Conversion project for $805,468.00. Funding for these services is included in the USDA Funding Package.
The Board approved two agreements with the South Lyon Medical Center to provide medical services at the Jail and to provide medical services to the inmates.
The Board of County Commissioners approved a Special Use Permit application for Sunpower Corporation to build and maintain a 19.9 Mega Watt solar power generation facility adjacent to NVENERGY’s Fort Churchill Power Plant in Mason Valley
The Board upheld the Planning Departments denial of an application for an administrative variance for property owned by Jack F. and Maria S. Staten, APN 016-311-08
The Board approved a request of the County Manager to enter into negotiations with the Mason Valley Boys and Girls Club to develop a multi-year agreement for use of the fairgrounds for the annual A Night in the Country Event. The negotiating team will consist of representatives of the Fair and Rodeo Board, Comptroller’s Office and Public Works Department.
The Board approved Bill Number 13-03 which repeals Title 10, Chapter 13 Lyon County Interim Plan for Federally Managed Public Lands. This code has been in effect for a number of years and has been replaced by the recently Board approved Lyon County Public Lands Policy.
The Board approved Bill Number 13-04 an ordinance prohibiting medical marijuana establishments as a matter of land use throughout the unincorporated areas of Lyon County.
